Summary
Government Decree No. 328/2025 extends the temporal scope of the utility protection service, pursuant to which the provision of universal electricity and natural gas supply under unchanged conditions is extended to 2026 as well. Government Decree No. 328/2025. (X. 30.) of the Government
on the amendment of Government Decree No. 236/2025. (VII. 31.) on the utility protection service ensuring the provision of universal electricity and natural gas supply under unchanged conditions
[1] The utility cost reduction scheme guarantees the lowest electricity and gas prices in Europe for Hungarian families. The purpose of the amendment is to extend the utility protection service under unchanged conditions for the year 2026. The utility cost reduction scheme will thus continue to assist domestic consumers next year in the tried and tested form that has been in place since August 2022.
[2] The Government, acting on the basis of the authorisation granted under Point 6 of Section 170(1) of Act LXXXVI of 2007 on Electricity and Point 13 of Section 132 of Act XL of 2008 on Natural Gas Supply, and acting within the scope of duties defined in Article 15(1) of the Fundamental Law, hereby orders the following:
Section 1. In Section 1(1) of Government Decree No. 236/2025. (VII. 31.) on the utility protection service ensuring the provision of universal electricity and natural gas supply under unchanged conditions, the text "2025." shall be replaced by the text "2026."
Section 2. This Decree shall enter into force on 1 November 2025.
