Summary

The government decree prepares governmental measures for the consequences of a potential insolvency of the Capital City of Budapest, with particular regard to ensuring the continuous operation of capital city public services and public transport. The Government undertakes an obligation that, should the Metropolitan Self-Government be unable to fulfil its payment obligations, it shall provide the necessary assistance for the payment of wages of the workers concerned. The purpose of the measure is to protect the residents of the capital city and to guarantee the uninterrupted provision of public services even in a situation of insolvency.
