Summary
The decree declares the development of the Duna Aréna to be an investment of outstanding importance from a national economic perspective, primarily for the purpose of facility developments necessary for hosting the 2027 World Aquatics World Championship. The amendment extends the scope of the priority procedural rules to the property registered under lot number 25879 in Budapest, vesting the coordination tasks in the Lord Lieutenant heading the Budapest Capital Government Office. The new provisions shall also apply to administrative authority proceedings pending at the time of entry into force.

Government Decree No. 475/2025. (XII. 31.) of the Government
on the amendment of Government Decree No. 83/2021. (II. 23.) on the designation of certain administrative authority cases related to investments connected with the renovation of Duna Arena as cases of outstanding importance from a national economic perspective, and on the amendment of certain government decrees related to investments of outstanding importance from a national economic perspective
[1] The Government's objective is to support the implementation of the World Aquatics 2027 23rd World Championships in Swimming, Water Polo, Diving, Artistic Swimming and Open Water Swimming and the 22nd Masters World Championships through the facility developments necessary for hosting the event, as well as to provide infrastructural support for the educational and youth development activities taking place at Duna Arena.
