Summary
The decree of the Minister of the Interior specifies the rules for placing mobile distinctive light signalling devices on motor vehicles, with a view to establishing a uniform law enforcement practice. According to the new provision, the device must be placed on the vehicle in a visible manner for the duration necessary for the execution of the task, even without activating the light signal, for the purpose of ensuring the recognisability of the distinctive character of the motor vehicle. The decree of the general deputy of the Prime Minister furthermore adjusts the rules for the use of chapter-managed appropriations designated for nationality and ecclesiastical purposes to the legislative changes of 2025, with particular regard to the Act on the central budget for the year 2025.

Decree No. 8/2025. (III. 17.) BM of the Minister of the Interior on the amendment of Decree No. 12/2007. (III. 13.) IRM on the rules for the installation and use of devices providing distinctive and warning signals
[1] The purpose of amending the rules on the installation of mobile distinctive light signals facilitating the performance of tasks by organisations carrying out tasks in the public interest is to establish a uniform law enforcement practice.
[2] The unambiguous recognisability in road traffic of vehicles equipped with mobile distinctive light signals installed for the duration of the performance of a public interest task is also of paramount importance from a road safety perspective.
[3] Acting pursuant to the authorisation granted in Section 48(3)(i) of Act I of 1988 on Road Traffic, within the scope of duties defined in Section 66(1)(12) of Government Decree No. 182/2022. (V. 24.) on the tasks and powers of the members of the Government, I hereby order the following:
Section 1. The provision of Section 8(2) of Decree No. 12/2007. (III. 13.) IRM on the rules for the installation and use of devices providing distinctive and warning signals shall be replaced by the following provision:…
