Summary
The Decree No. 1/2025. (III. 19.) OAH creates the regulatory framework for the further operation of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant following its operation beyond the planned operational lifetime, amending Decree No. 1/2022. OAH on nuclear safety requirements. The amendment extends the scope of the operating licence to cover further operation following the period beyond the planned operational lifetime, and introduces new licensing obligations with regard to the expansion of facilities for the storage of spent fuel and the persistence of conditions deviating from the plans. The decree concerns nuclear safety regulatory activities falling within the competence of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority, under the Act of 1996 on atomic energy.
