Summary
Act XLVII of 2025 amends the Acts on public finances and on the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, primarily in the interest of more efficient operation of the central bank and fulfilment of legal harmonisation obligations. The amendment prohibits the MNB from establishing asset management foundations or foundations for investment or asset management purposes in the future, while also clarifying the rules on the Treasury Single Account and foreign currency accounts. In addition, it introduces a new sanctioning instrument whereby the MNB, acting within its supervisory competence, may impose a fine ranging from two million forints to one hundred million forints on credit institutions committing infringements.
