Summary
Government Decree No. 171/2025. (VI. 27.) contains an amendment to Government Decree No. 1/2012. (I. 20.) on the student loan system, which affects the general-purpose loans of higher education students. Pursuant to the amendment, the interest portion charged to the client on general-purpose student loans outstanding as of 31 December 2024 is fixed unchanged at 7.99 percent from 1 July 2025 until 31 December 2025, thereby preventing an increase in the interest rate.
