Summary
Government Decree 276/2025 sets out the detailed rules on fines imposable in the event of infringement of the rules on corporate social responsibility (ESG), the application of which falls within the competence of the Supervisory Authority for Regulated Activities. When determining the amount of the fine, the Authority shall consider the harmful effect of the infringement on sustainable development, as well as the remedial measures voluntarily taken by the infringer. The main provisions of the decree shall enter into force on the 16th day following its promulgation, while certain annexes thereof shall apply from 1 January 2026.

on the rules for fines imposable in the event of violation of the rules on environmentally conscious, social and societal corporate social responsibility serving the promotion of sustainable financing and uniform corporate accountability, also taking into account environmental, social and societal aspects
[1] The Government supports compliance with statutory obligations, contributes to the promotion of sustainable development, and to the strengthening of environmental and social responsibility, by establishing transparent sanctioning rules proportionate to the degree of the infringement and also taking into account the financial situation of the parties concerned, applicable in the event of breach of obligations prescribed by Act CVIII of 2023 on the rules of environmentally conscious, social and societal corporate social responsibility serving the promotion of sustainable financing and uniform corporate accountability, also taking into account environmental, social and societal aspects, and on the amendment of other related acts, as well as by legislation issued on the basis of the authorisation contained in that Act.…
