Summary
The decree contains two separate government decrees. The first extends the validity of previous measures relating to the reduction of food prices and drugstore product prices from 28 February to 31 May, with the aim of protecting Hungarian families and reducing inflation. The second decree, within the framework of emergency regulations, enables municipal governments of cities with a population of more than 30,000 to allocate the increment of state subsidies towards salary increases for civil servants.

III. Government Decrees
Government Decree No. 19/2026. (II. 12.) of the Government
on the amendment of Government Decree No. 42/2025. (III. 11.) on measures necessary for the reduction of food prices and Government Decree No. 93/2025. (V. 8.) on measures necessary for the reduction of prices of drugstore products
[1] The purpose of this Decree is to extend the temporal scope of the measures introduced for the reduction of food prices and drugstore product prices in order to protect Hungarian families and to further reduce food inflation.
[2] The Government, acting in its original legislative authority as defined in Article 53(1) of the Fundamental Law, having regard to Sections 80 and 81 of Act XCIII of 2021 on the Coordination of Defence and Security Activities, as well as to Section 2(1a) of Act XLII of 2022 on the Prevention and Management of the Consequences in Hungary of the Armed Conflict and Humanitarian Catastrophe in a Neighbouring Country, acting within the scope of its duties as defined in Article 15(1) of the Fundamental Law, hereby orders the following:
1. Amendment of Government Decree No. 42/2025. (III. 11.) on measures necessary for the reduction of food prices
1.§ In Section 9 of Government Decree No. 42/2025. (III. 11.) on measures necessary for the reduction of food prices, the text "on 28 February." shall be replaced by the text "on 31 May"…
