Summary
The decree of the Minister of the Interior contains amendments to ministerial decrees regulating professional training in the healthcare sector, affecting the system of specialist medical training, the introduction of new licence training programmes, as well as the procedural rules for the recognition of foreign diplomas. The amendment also extends to ensuring compliance with European Union directives, in particular with regard to the minimum training requirements for general nurses, dentists, and pharmacists. The decree also establishes a transitional provision, pursuant to which training institutions holding prior accreditation shall not be required to conduct a new accreditation procedure with respect to the amended training requirements.

Decree No. 5/2026. (III. 2.) BM of the Minister of the Interior on the amendment of ministerial decrees related to healthcare sectoral professional training
[1] A priority objective is the clarification of the rules of the specialist physician training system, as well as the introduction of new licence training programmes in order to increase efficiency.
[2] Acting on the basis of the authorisation granted in Section 67(3)(a) of Act C of 2001 on the Recognition of Foreign Certificates and Diplomas, in the scope of duties defined in Section 66(1)(26) of Government Decree 182/2022. (V. 24.) on the tasks and powers of the members of the Government,
