III. I. Government Decrees

Government Decree No. 36/2026. (III. 5.) Korm.

on the amendment of government decrees related to certain public education matters, and on the amendment of government decrees related to the supplementary benefit provided in connection with the 2025 teacher salary increase

[1] It is a priority objective of the Government, in accordance with the mutual commitments made with teachers, to ensure on the basis of the agreement concluded with the European Union for the years 2025–2031 that the average salary of teachers reaches eighty percent of the average salary of graduates.

[2] The Government is committed to fulfilling its commitments made towards teachers, just as teachers fulfil their obligations.

[3] The Government also takes note of the fact that the results of public education have continuously improved in recent times.

[4] In view of all the foregoing, on the basis of the final statistical data for 2025, as the last step of the 2025 teacher salary increase, a lump-sum payment shall be provided.

[5] The phasing out of school register cards reduces the administrative burden on pedagogues, while increasing the accuracy of data through the spread of digitalisation.
