Summary
The government decree contains an amendment to Government Decree No. 43/1999 laying down the detailed rules for the financing of publicly funded healthcare services from the Health Insurance Fund, with particular regard to the strengthening of the financing of spinal care and the introduction of new accounting codes for imaging diagnostic reporting activities. The amendment updates Annex No. 5 containing the financing appropriations, in which the aggregate framework for curative-preventive care for the year 2026 amounts to approximately HUF 2,933 billion. III. Government Decrees
Government Decree No. 54/2026. (III. 12.) on the amendment of Government Decree No. 43/1999. (III. 3.) on the detailed rules for the financing of healthcare services from the Health Insurance Fund
[1] A priority objective is to strengthen the financing of publicly funded spinal care activities.
[2] Within the framework of the programme ensuring the earliest possible access to diagnostic imaging services, the settlement of new codes for reporting activities becomes possible.
[3] The Government, acting on the basis of the authorisation granted in Section 83(2)(a) of Act LXXXIII of 1997 on the benefits of compulsory health insurance, and acting within the scope of duties defined in Article 15(1) of the Fundamental Law, hereby decrees the following:
Section 1 (1) Annex No. 5 of Government Decree No. 43/1999. (III. 3.) on the detailed rules for the financing of healthcare services from the Health Insurance Fund (hereinafter: Decree) shall be replaced by Annex 1.
(2) Annex No. 39 of the Decree shall be amended in accordance with Annex 2.
Section 2 (1) This Decree shall enter into force on the day following its promulgation, with the exception provided for in paragraph (2).
(2) Section 1(2) and Annex 2 shall enter into force on the first day of the month following the promulgation of this Decree.
