Summary
Act XIII of 2026 defines Hungary's new governmental structure, listing the sixteen ministries that perform state functions on the basis of the provisions of the Fundamental Law. The Act lays down the manner of establishment of the individual ministries, whereby several new portfolios are separated from the Ministry of the Interior, while the Ministry for European Union Affairs and the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister are merged into the Prime Minister's Office. A number of former ministries continue to operate under a change of name; for example, the Ministry of National Economy continues as the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade continues as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
